Children
On average 37 children up to the age of 16 were killed or seriously injured every week on our roads in 2007.
The THINK! campaign is helping to contribute to the Government's objective of halving the number of road deaths and serious injuries for children by the year 2010.
By 2007 this figure had fallen by 55% and we are working to cut this number still further.
Safe as pedestrians and cyclists As a parent or carer, you can help reduce the risks your child faces on our roads by teaching them how to be safe as pedestrians and as cyclists. You can also make sure that you use the right size child car seat on every trip, and that it fits properly.
In this section, you can read about our campaigns that relate to making children safe on our roads: Pedestrians, Cycling and In car. You will also receive vital advice and tips on how to protect your children by taking the most effective in car safety measures and by teaching them basic road safety skills.
