Awareness

There seems to be lack of awareness among Malaysian motorists...not to mention a sorely lack of enforcement. Havent you all noticed the lack of visible presence of traffic police at major junctions? Apart from those in city centre during peak hours, other major roads/ intersections have no police presence, compared to few years back.As you notice, its becoming the norm for drivers and motorcyclist to use mobile phone while driving / riding (without hands free kit!!!) AND, motorcyclist often ignore traffic stop lights, even motorists are starting to get into the act. One bad side effect of the migrant workers (esp those in the lowest type of jobs) is that we also "import" their lawless mentality...once they start beating the lights, our locals start to follow suit and soon, Malaysian society degenerates down to the lawless couldnt care less mentality of those migrant workers. coupled with lack of enforcement by our wonderful traffic police and JPJ...result is higher rate of accidents !!
